Arrived 10 minutes before opening at 17:20 on a week night. There were already 3 groups including mine, it's clear a reservation is strongly recommended as the place is too popular to just walk in. The vibe is Showa retro, but in a good way. Open kitchen and it's worth sitting at the counter to witness the brutal efficiency and skill of the folks working it. Seafood is as fresh as it gets, but what makes it stand out is the affordability. 2 people stuffed with countless dishes, bottle of sake and a few beers. Under 10,000 yen, it would have been twice that in Tokyo or Yokohama.

Whether you like sardines or not, you'll be satisfied.

It’s a pity that the sardines were small this time❗ It's been a while since I've bothered you. It was a Friday night, and the place was packed. All sardine dishes are surprisingly priced at ¥370. I will be visiting again. It's fast, delicious, and cheap, but the opening hours are short, so it's tough to make a reservation... It's not particularly bad. It's been 3 years since I last visited this year, and I've been there 3 times and it's still delicious and cheap. A recommended bar in Kimitsu. Red shellfish sashimi and sardine sashimi!
