Onjuku, Chiba, Japan｜Kitchen Handy

This is a small and cozy 4 table restaurant. There must be some American influence because there was a Virginia license plate on the wall and a painting of 60s Hawaii. The man working was extremely nice and a good cook. He did it all. There was an English menu. We had the taco rice, shrimp pasta and the fried chicken and fries. All were very good. The seasoning on the taco rice was especially good. The mojito was very good. There was 4 roses for the whiskey drinkers (I'm from Kentucky so felt a little like home).

Great place, friendly people, good food! Update: Came back to Onjuku two years later. Ate at Kitchen Handy our first night here and I think it's even better than before. Get the antipasti plate! Holy smokes this place is the best, non-pretentious Italian food in Japan.

Awesome little spot! Great food and service! Perfect for after a surf session. The pizza and fries were great and I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend!
