Overall quality of the menu well exceeded our expectations — some interesting twist to (mostly) simple local produce but not excessively fancy. We did opt for some extra options (upgraded wagyu or king prawn) but I would say these aren’t really required to enjoy the meal. The sake pairing menu (mine included 4 sakes + 1 local mirin) was very well thought out, too, covering an interesting range of flavor profiles. Highly recommended!

Upscale and beautifully elegant atmosphere

Not only can you see the sake brewery from a distance, but you can also eat inside. I thought this new initiative that utilizes important cultural properties was wonderful. There seems to be a place where you can stay in the castle, so I'd like to go there someday. The meal is French cuisine using fermented foods. The special dish of sweet potato soup with espresso foam on top was really delicious.
