Koga, Ibaraki, Japan｜登知喜屋

Visited at 19:30 on August 19, 2022. From set meals to soba sets, they range from 700 yen to 1000 yen. I ordered a large bowl of curry rice for 750 yen. I was surprised at the amount, which was just short of Sukiya's mega platter, but I was able to finish it without getting bored with the sticky, home-made roux. It was a nice shop run by a friendly couple. I'm curious about the price of 1,400 yen for Unajyu, but I guess it's a price range that's hard to expect...

I happened to work nearby and was wondering if there was a good shop somewhere...? I found it. It seemed to be run by a husband and wife, with the wife serving the customers and the husband working in the kitchen, so it was a very nice atmosphere! I ordered curry rice, which cost 650 yen, and was very filling, and the miso soup arrived soon after. I'm a big eater, but I'm still satisfied. I think I'll try it again tomorrow! I went for lunch around 11:30, but it was empty and there was only one other group besides me.

At lunchtime, the place is filled with soba lovers. The rice bowls seem to have a slightly stronger seasoning. It's full of volume. Because there is alcohol available I end up staying too long.
