Hitachi, Ibaraki, Japan｜Restaurant Sekai

I loved my dinner here. While the place looks a bit outdated, it could also pass for modern decor as well. My seat and most other seats provide a nice outlook to the ocean it is easy to find since you just walk down Omika-dori and it's at the end of the road. I was provided an Japanese/English menu (though the drink section was entirely Japanese) and I ordered the #45 Dinner Set for ¥1600. My meal consisted of cream of corn soup, salad, bread(rice was an option as well), sautéed pork steak, a single drink and 2 options of dessert (I chose grape sherbet and the other I believe was coffee pudding). I was given a choice of when to have my drink and I chose before the meal. I loved the soup, it was a nice rich way to start the meal. The main dish, salad and bread were then brought together. The salad used sesame dressing and butter was provided for the bread. The pork was a bit tough(I could still cut it with the slightly sharp butter knife they provided though) but I took that as meaning it was fully cooked and the sauce was good as well. One I finished, my dishes were cleared and a moment later my dessert and check brought. The grape sherbet was a nice end to the meal and I felt no rush on me to leave even though my check had been brought. The server provided me plenty of time for each part of my meal and did not rush me at all which was nice. As I passed the servers area to sit down I did hear whispers discussing who knew the most English so they would serve me so it was nice that they were being considerate of non-English speakers. I know enough Japanese to order my food so I could see the slight relief on my servers face :P All in all, this is a great place with many wonderful meat/fish and alcohol options. I would certainly suggest this place for a date since it's very near the lighthouse and you could walk around the area beforehand as the restaurant is basically at the mouth of a park.
