Excellent soba n a lovely elderly couple running the restaurant ans a lovely authentic Japanese garden. We were lucky to go on a weekday as weekend is usually booked and they close on Monday. Definitely a must to go if you are in the neighbour

6/24/2023 The first time I went was 20 years ago. After working as an engineer for an automobile manufacturer in Yokohama, the husband returned to his hometown and opened a soba shop with his wife from Matsumoto. My parents' house is a splendid building called "Honmon-zukuri" in Matsumotodaira. It has been wonderfully renewed, and the garden has been touched to every corner. Of course, the soba is handmade. The passion and energy he and his wife put into maintaining such a building and garden, making buckwheat noodles, frying tempura, and making duck soup is immeasurable. I go once or twice a year. I tend to calculate that it will be 20 years after the retirement age of 60, but he was still as diligent as ever, dealing with customers who came one after another.

Reasonable pricing that you can't imagine from the outside. It even comes with pickles and dessert. Above all, the soba noodles are incredibly delicious. Also, the space and scenery have a wonderful atmosphere. I could feel Nagano in the many photo books in the guest room, and I was able to spend an unexpectedly luxurious and satisfying time. It felt like a place to spend precious time with important people. I would like to visit you again. thank you very much.
