Matsukawa, Nagano, Japan｜SPICE ROAD Curry House and Lodge

I eat Indian food regularly cooked by Indians and this was amongst the best curries I have ever eaten. The owner makes a point of not adding oil to his curries other than that of the nuts and meat that he uses, which makes them healthy and easy to digest. The owner/chef was a lovely man with considerable passion for his craft. My brother and I will not forget the evening we had there. A wonderful experience.

A rare find. The tandoori chicken was exquisite. All the dishes were delicately spiced, nothing too sweet and nothing too greasy. A stylish and cosy interior; the photographs on google don't really do it justice. I'll be back!

Authentic spiced curry with tandoori chicken as the main dish, it was delicious! It's a light curry that doesn't use flour or butter, so it's not heavy and easy to eat. The special chicken is marinated in spices and yogurt, and the flavor is well absorbed and the meat is tender. There was no smell of meat near the bone, and it was delicious till the end. My husband and I ordered something different and shared it, but since both were delicious, I thought it would have been better to order a mix (^_^;)Peri Peri Chicken would have been a better match with the rice. This one is easy to eat as it is cut into pieces.You can refill the rice once. The curry and chicken are both large in quantity, so men might be able to get a second helping. Also, the texture was like mango lassi mixed with rich yogurt, and it was very delicious. The atmosphere of the store was also nice. The acoustics are pleasant, and the store is clean, stylish, and comfortable. There is a slope in front of the store, so it is child-friendly. Also, when I was confused about the menu, the host also talked to me, which made me feel warm. I've been to Azumino several times, and I'd like to stop by again.
