Saku, Nagano, Japan｜Seishun Shokudo

This little restaurant is our favorite in Saku. The building is atmospheric with old beams and white plaster and the staff are very friendly. The tomato curry is amazing....maybe the best food we have had in Japan. They also operate a hostel upstairs. We celebrate the day we chanced across this place!

The building is a refurbished old folk house and has a calm atmosphere. It seems that the owner prepares the food from scratch after receiving the order, so it may take some time to serve when it is crowded, but the food is the most delicious. I received "Shinshu pork ginger grilled set meal", The meat was very tender, and the soy sauce sauce was delicious with ginger.

It is a hideaway stylish dining room that renovated an old private house. It is located one step away from the main street, and the parking lot can be stopped diagonally for 4 cars next to it. The inside of the store is a space with a high ceiling that is hollowed out to the attic, and it is a large space divided into counter seats and table seats. The menu is also displayed outside the store, but there are a wide variety of menus, such as udon, ramen, and curry, and there is also a set menu. I ordered the Iwanda set (1200 yen), but the curry udon was easy to eat because it was a muddy curry, and the pork bowl with hot egg was very good. In Saku, even though there are many large stores, shopping streets outside the station are still alive. Recently, there has been talk of the withdrawal of Yokado in Nagano City, and there are many voices lamenting that the Gondo Arcade Street will become even more desolate. , I just think again that it's like a business. It doesn't matter whether there are large-scale stores or not, but whether there are good stores or not.In a world where there are many people who are tired of large-scale stores, I think that if there are more unique and wonderful stores, the city will naturally regain its vitality. . I just think that it is this shop that showed me such a good example.
