More Comments at Google MapI had dashi soba for lunch while visiting the Kaikoen Cherry Blossom Festival in Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture. Since I am more of a udon fan than a soba fan, I am not familiar with soba so I cannot give a detailed report, but I was able to follow the directions given to me when the soba was served (notes are included)! It was very delicious.
I was planning to eat at this restaurant near the Fujison Memorial Museum, but I passed in front of the restaurant and didn't seem to have air conditioning, so I skipped it. On the way back from the Keizo Koyama Museum of Art, I passed by the front again and entered the store attracted by ``100% Komoro buckwheat flour''. I ate dashi soba and red bean milk shaved ice. The soba noodles were simple but delicious. There was no air conditioner, only a fan, but the floor was dirt floor, so it was cool.
Go to Komoro Castle by bike. It was a very hot day and my throat was dry. Carbonated juices are good, but sweet ones are sticky, so I thought I'd rather drink non-alcoholic ones... and then I found this shop. There was a bench and an ashtray right in front of the store, so I asked the store clerk. I said, ``I'd like to have only non-alcoholic drinks, is that okay?'' I'd like to smoke a cigarette, so I'd like it outside.'' After talking to the cook (probably the manager), the clerk said, ``No problem, I'll take it outside.'' Since I was ordering something unusual, I said I would bring it myself, but the clerk asked me to sit and wait. Since I was tired from touring, I was kind enough to wait and was greeted with pickles! Thanks to this store and the staff, I was able to replenish the minerals and water I lost due to the heat and long distance travel. You will never drink such delicious non-alcoholic beer again. It would be nice if the clerk at that time saw it. (*This was a few years before the coronavirus outbreak)
