Hakuba, Nagano, Japan｜Hana Emi Cafe

Beautiful tasty home cooked food- most come with a salad AND home made veg soup. Really inexpensive and quick. Good English spoken. I’m vegan and had mushroom spaghetti, and the others in our group had meat dishes which they really liked. Dessert was good too. We wanted to return but it was closed the night we wanted to go there again. Worth a visit.

What a gem! Lovely Japanese diner with a western twist. We went with three young kids and found it to be a very welcoming and relaxed restaurant. We tried several dishes on their menu and found all of them to be delicious with huge portions. Best of all, they had great fresh vegetables, which is not easy to find here. Particularly enjoyed the taco rice, jambalaya, omelet rice (which was beautifully done!), and curry. The pastas were yummy and also came in large portions. Most of the dishes would do really well as takeaway options. Highly recommend. Will definitely be a family favorite in Hakuba!
