This is a hidden gem! No english restaurant but they have the pictures in the menu and the friendly chef just popped out with his translator in the ipad. Very authentic and not far from the national park and where we stayed. I adore the cold soba with tempura. Love it!

I came here because I wanted to eat Togakushi soba for the first time in a while. This soba is 75% soba and 25% wheat. Apparently you can also eat 100 percent soba noodles, but reservations are required. Apparently it's best to have soba noodles freshly made and boiled. I don't know if that's actually the case, but the soba noodles at the soba restaurant are It's still delicious. I'm glad I came to eat Also, this time I ordered Tenzaru Soba. The tempura was served with matcha salt instead of tempura sauce, and it was delicious. It wasn't heavy with oil and was crispy, so I could eat it easily. Also, at first I thought there wasn't much soba, but there was tempura as well. It was a perfect fit for my stomach. You can feel the season with the classics like shrimp, eggplant, and sweet potato. I was satisfied with the pumpkin and enoki mushrooms. I was able to eat lunch at a reasonable price for a tourist destination.

This is a soba restaurant run by local ladies. It's crowded so you have to wait, but the food is good.
