Very good authentic Japanese food for my American palette. The tempura was some of the best I’ve ever eaten It was very fresh and light with just the right amount of crunch. Hubby enjoyed the soba noodles with tempura veggies and shrimp. I enjoyed the tempura veggies and shrimp with rice and miso soup. Everything was fresh and had great flavor. If you like fresh tempura and fresh soba you should definitely give this restaurant a try. (One of the pictures is of a friend’s katsudon that he liked very much, and the other picture is my tempura meal.)

A Japanese restaurant that has been around for a long time. There are always customers even during the off-season. Salt-grilled rockfish from the pond in the back and soba noodles are delicious. The taste of soba is top class in Karuizawa. We recommend the chilled yam soba!

I ordered the squid tempura set meal, but it was the first time I ate such crispy tempura. It was so crispy that it was a waste to dip it in the tempura sauce, and it was so chewy that I had to add some salt (by the way, I usually eat tempura with tempura sauce). In addition, the garnished “Mountain jellyfish with plum meat” was also very delicious. Anyway, it was a delicious and satisfying set meal! I also wanted to eat rock fish, so I'm thinking of eating rock fish next time.
