Shirakawa, Fukushima, Japan｜そば処はしもと

I ordered a tempura set meal. The soba was very delicious. Because it is chewy and has a large volume, can you finish eating it? I thought it was all eaten when I noticed it. The fried foods are generally crispy and delicious. The fried chicken is also excellent. Next time I come, I'd like to try the fried shrimp set meal (^^)

First visit. When I arrived at the parking lot around 1:50 p.m., the owner had just come out to change the plates at the end of business, but he kindly let me in. Due to the coronavirus, it was written at the entrance that the store would be open from 11:00 to 14:00 (I noticed this later). I ordered the shrimp tempura bowl set and the soba noodles with duck nanban. The shrimp tempura bowl set consisted of 3 juicy shrimp, 1 crispy kakiage, and the sauce went well with the rice. The Kamo Nanban Tsuke Soba had a heaping amount of soba noodles, and the dipping sauce had a lot of duck in a bowl (I didn't count...) Both are hearty and very satisfying! It seems to be run by a husband and wife, and the wife was very friendly. I want to go eat there again.

This is a restaurant that is famous for its Shirakawa ramen, and has established a strong position as a Japanese soba restaurant. Menu items such as tempura are good, but my personal favorite is the duck steamer. There are many restaurants in the city that serve delicious duck bamboo steamers, but the duck bamboo steamer served here is exceptional. If you want to eat a lot, we recommend ordering a large portion.
