Kitakata, Fukushima, Japan｜喜多方拉麵店 喜一

We came before they opened and wrote our names down on a list, where there were already two pages of names, and were told there would be a two and a half hour wait. We came back two and a half hours later and had the best ramen of our lives. The staff very kindly offered us small bowls so we could each order a different ramen and share; the shio and akadama were my favorites. The chashu in the shio were melt-in-your-mouth and the menma had the perfect amount of tenderness and crunchiness. The akadama (spicy miso) had a nice kick to it. As we were leaving, the owner greeted us from the kitchen and thanked us for waiting so long, which I thought was really nice of him. To sum it up, the food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch and the prices were the same as your average unassuming ramen place. 10/10 would recommend.

Really good Kitakata ramen, the place is clean bright and very good service. The restaurant serve only rame and open at seven in the morning and close early as 12 or 14. Is very popular, better make a reservation at week ends.
