Gifu, Japan｜屋台ラーメン 太平

Stayed at 十八楼 ryokan, decided to catch some bites after some night alcohols. Sighted rare gem near by, yatai styled ramen operated by an old grandpa. Tastes great, springy noodle, light and hearty broth, full of old style chuka ramen flavour.

The atmosphere is absolutely incredible! Eating hot ramen by 2°C outside is fabulous. Must try!

After making a reservation at Juhachiro, I was looking for late-night ramen nearby and found an old-fashioned ramen stall. When you talk to the owner, he says he's been doing it for 40 years and the menu is simple, only Chinese noodles! The soup is light and really delicious. The noodles were thin, grilled pork, menma, green onion, and seaweed, making for a simple and exceptional ramen with just a sprinkle of pepper. It was so light that I drank all the soup. Basically, it is open all year round until midnight. There are no drink towels, so be careful. A cup costs 700 yen and you can feel the history of 40 years. I would definitely like to go again
