Showa, Yamanashi, Japan｜Il Chanti Kofu

After passing il chianti a few times on the way to Ito Yokado, I ventured into the local neighborhood イタリアン屋 for lunch. A rustic, brick eatery that reminds me of a small Old Chicago's (USA). Happy to see a stone oven, I decided on the undervalued pizza Higawari set. At 980円, this is a steal. Especially in Japan. This set came with soup, salad, main, and a "afterdrink" of coffee (latte, espresso, blend, cappuccino), tea, or juice. While waiting the few minutes for my salad to arrive, I saw meals that would bring me back many times. Burrata and nama ham two ways, gnocchi, caccio e pepe, risotto, carpaccio. The menu changes frequently from what I can see. The salad was a rarely seen mixed greens, with a garlic vinaigrette base, and a light hint of fish. Simple, refreshing, and savory. The soup came with. A light cream soup with a balanced onion and bacon flavor. Again, a light dish. Not to say I sensed a theme here, just that these paired well together, and my appetite was not lost in my starters. The Bismark pizza I ordered, an uncommon item seen in restaurants, was perfect in my eyes. A thin crisp crust flavored with olive oil, holding a sauce Napoli would be proud of, crisp meaty bacon, fresh spinach, and a sunny side up egg. While the latter ingredient may sound off-putting, it fits perfectly with the tamago obsessed Japan. There is a sense of soft, rounded luxury I find in egg yolk with meat and bread. I decided that I would take a plunge into my sinful pleasure of desserts, and my obsession with Panna cotta. Seeing a maple syrup version, I felt this would pair with my latte. Sadly, I did not find out their pairing, as I devoured the heavenly cloud of milk Jell-O before I took a sip of coffee. If my next meal here is as good as this one, I will have found my ristorante amici.

All were extremely delicious! The original dressing is exquisite. I think it would be a good idea to buy it as a souvenir! I'll visit you again!

it's one of my favourite stores. Salads and pastas are delicious! I usually eat Caribbean salad and midnight spaghetti, but today I had Greek spaghetti. This pasta is so delicious that I want to eat it again soon!
