Zhongshan District, Taipei City｜紀どり（紀鳥 Yakitori Bar）

Great Yakitori restaurant that uses binchotan charcoal. The aroma and taste of skewers cooked over charcoal is distinctive and a level up from places that use gas or electricity. Every chicken skewer was cooked to perfection, meat still tender and juicy and not over seasoned. You get a choice of salt, sauce or yuzu seasoning for the skewers. I ordered 80g of the grilled outside skirt for variety but it was disappointing. The beef isn't cooked Yakitori style on a skewer. While edible, it's nothing special and I'd rather spend the money on 3 chicken skewers for that price. The cabbage salad is a nice palate cleanser, fresh, crunchy and tossed with a light ponzu style dressing and topped with shaved parmesan (so simple but very unique and creative IMO). Highlight skewer for me were the wings. I'm a huge chicken wing fan and these were excellent. So good that I myself had 4 skewers. Yakitori bar provides a super clean environment with very friendly staff. Kudos to the chef as cooking with charcoal requires skill to control the heat.

Here is Japanese style and quality Yakitori bar. Not cheap but good foods and drinks. They have various highball. Fortunately we have ordered Japanese Basil highball, it tastes sour and really match with grill food. The staff members were so friendly and attentive, cleaning the table all the time. The grill chicken leg is so juicy. There are two or three different sauces of the skewers, for example soy sauce, salt and yuzi salt.

Outstanding quality!!! The service is also accurate and thoughtful as well. Since 2019, I have normally visited here at least 2 times per month. The quality of yakitori here has never falled, and I would like to especially point out their curry rice. It is a crime to have such an amazing quality of curry rice as being a yakitori restaurant, absolutely stunning!! The price may raise a bit compared with before, but still affordable and certainly worthy for a stable quality.
