This may come across as blasphemy considering the diverse realm of Japanese food, but I just can't help myself: my mouth truly waters for Sukiya's gyudon. Orders are delivered to the table promptly and when smothered with pickled ginger and cheese, time stands still for a few precious minutes. There are two branches in Joetsu: one near McDonalds on Joetsuodori and the other near Kasugayama Park.
