Nikko, Tochigi, Japan｜Yuba ryōri Aburagen

This place was amazing ! I recommend it if you want to eat a traditional Japanese meal with a lot of small plates. I took the tofu skin set meal since I read that it was a speciality of Nikko and I absolutely do not regret my choice. It was a bit expensive for a meal in Japan (2130 yen) but there was a huge variety of dishes and I tasted so many ways to eat tofu skin ! The food definitely tasted amazing! Furthermore, the employees were so nice. I asked at one point if I could charge my phone and they not only accepted but also asked me if I wanted to switch places to keep an eye on it and they helped me move my stuffs. They were really thoughtful and I am really grateful for that. I would definitely like go back.

I had lunch at Aburagen during my Nikko sightseeing tour. Eventhough, It was not on the plan, I really happy and enjoy the food there. Soymilk skin is popular,also beef bowl is delicious.

Chanced upon this restaurant. It is very close to the Shinkyo bridge. Was full from breakfast and snacks but I really wanted to have lunch, because Japan. The owner was hospitable and welcoming. My companion and I had a set each. The Yuba dishes were exquisite and delicious. The owner was very kind and offered us a cup of Sakura tea as well. She told us that it’s usually served during ceremonies such as weddings. I would recommend you to make a visit to this place if you’re in Nikko! A good pit stop after visiting the numerous shrines and temples.
