Atami, Shizuoka, Japan｜Zenskau

We came in on a Sunday night. We had planned on going to the nearby restaurant Hanabusa, but it was full so we went here instead. It worked out perfectly because this place was so good that we were glad we couldn't go to the other place. We came a couple hours before closing, so there weren't many people. The owner was extremely nice and made us feel very comfortable there, even as 3 Americans who barely speak any Japanese. We had no problem communicating with him as he speaks some English. The food was very delicious too! We loved everything we got! The kindness of the owner really made an impression on us, and we hope others will go here! He even came out of the restaurant as we were leaving to continue to thank us for coming and to ask us about his pronunciation of English. He gave us cheesecake as a gift on our way out. It was probably the best restaurant experience I have ever had! ☺️

Very delicious small family shop, the sashimi is very fresh, the tempura is crispy, the owner's business is very hospitable, highly recommended

It was quite satisfying for international customers when we travelled there for the Atami fireworks show in winter. Just popped in the restaurant but we’re super happy with the food and services there. Friendly and warm. Dishes are really nice and surprising, they were like homemade with heart rather than the fast food. Love that. Love Atami, the fireworks you really need to visit at least once in a life.
