Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan｜La Brique

Sparkling clean upmarket restaurant overlooking the old government administration building. The lunch menu was superb with melt-in-the-mouth beef cheek main course. Had wine by the glass which matched well with the main course. Service too was excellent. Highly recommended!

Incredible. Chef Satoshi Shimaya trained at a Michelin Star restaurant in Paris and shows both technique and creativity in his cuisine. His plates feature mousses, foams, masterful protein cookery, and precise knife skills, all to showcase the beautiful local ingredients. Every plate is artful, inspired, and delicious. Service was exceptional. Even though communication was limited, the staff were very courteous, attentive, and hospitable. The manager (who also presented and described most of our dishes) was flawless. An underrated gem in Sapporo and a must when visiting the area.

Great French restaurant. I felt everything was quite authentic. Most ingredients are from Hokkaido, including very good venison. For sure we will come back.
