Tochigi, Japan｜Ramen Takashima

Amazing. We were in the area so dropped in. Fabulous handmade noodles. May even be worth the drive up from Tokyo.

This is an amazing Restaurant.

I visited around 11:30 on a weekday, and the restaurant was reserved the entire time. Photography of ticket machines is prohibited. I thought I'd go for wonton noodles (830 yen), but I was drawn to the Takashima ramen (seafood) on the top left, so I changed my mind. Takashima Ramen was limited to 30 servings and cost 940 yen. There was also a weekday lunch only, but I didn't want to get too full today so I passed on it. Water is self-service. Since there were no other customers, it was served quickly. First of all, there is a mountain of nori seaweed, which makes a big impact. Eggs, char siu x2, and Naruto are also on board. A pretty solid seafood soup. The noodles are Sano ramen style green bamboo noodles. The noodles were handmade and were unevenly thin, but they went well with the soup. Nori seaweed also goes well with the soup and is delicious. Best of all, the chashu was soft yet thick and delicious. I didn't want to get too full, but it was quite filling and I ended up feeling full. But I'm very satisfied. Takashima ramen was the right answer. Is it a coincidence that there are so few customers even though it is so delicious? I think it would be nice if there was a line. Next time I would like to try the wonton noodles. It was a feast.
