Numazu, Shizuoka, Japan｜Shōfuku ramen

I usually am not a fan of thick noodles but theirs is an exception. When we went, I had a bowl of umai ramen. The serving was standard, but the soup was really thick and tasty. There was only one slice of chashu but it was a pretty big chunk. I finished the bowl with some of their fried rice.

The best ramen place so far I've been to in Japan. Even as a foreigner unable to speak to them as I don't speak Japanese, communication felt easy and enthusiastic. Loved the excited greeting of entrance and exit of the guests. Everyone from service was super attentive like nowhere else, including the cook. They serve beer ice cold - the only place I've encountered in Japan that serves appropriate temperature beer for a sunny day.

Umai ramen is totally umai!! Servers are kind and fast.
