Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan｜Ramen Kagetsu Arashi

Today was my first ramen in over a year since Covid-19 hit. I got a flyer with coupons advertising Kagetsu's Black ramen. Back in 2003 Black was always on the menu. Now it's only available for a few months each year. It didn't disappoint. Garlicky, rich, but not overly greasy. Noodles were firm. Brought back memories of my student days. My son, who normally doesn't eat ramen, chose the Bari Kara spicy ramen. He loved it (and used almost a whole tray of napkins wiping his nose) but admitted that the Black was better and he wants to come again before it disappears from the menu. So the saying still holds... "once you've had black, you can never go back " Definitely my favorite chain ramen shop.

I'm not sure why this has such low ratings... The taste and service are both great

After drinking alcohol, I often eat Arashi Genkotsu Ramen. The soup punch is well prepared with thin noodles, and I love it for the price. The service and atmosphere of the shop is also good because I am drunk and often late at night, so I am not too energetic!
