Nagoya, Aichi, Japan｜Shishimaru

Was in Nagoya for a few days and decided to give this ramen restaurant a try. I wa Avery impressed, and came here a few times. I tried all 4 of their popular ramen: their signature Prawn, the Chicken, Mixed Shoyu with Truffle Paste or the cold Summer Soba special. Really liked the texture of the ramen and each component were cooked perfectly. The standouts definitely was the cold ramen, followed closely by the shoya base - very well balanced. Highly recommend 🍜😋👍

Queued for about 20 mins in the rain to try this ramen restaurant at 8+pm at night. We thought the queue will be shorter if we go late but no it’s as long as always. But the wait was totally worth it. One of the damn best ramen I’ve tried in my trip to Nagoya. Thick flavourful broth and spring noodles. Superb

We were lucky and managed to get a short queue this time, usually the queue can get quite long as it is a popular ramen shop. They also made the 2020 list of top 100 ramen shops in East Japan, and it is well-deserved. Both paitan and ise-ebi ramen broth were light but flavourful, the ise-ebi broth reminded me of a little in between Singapore laksa and prawn noodles. It made me a little homesick.. :') Usually for ramen, the heaviness gets too much for me, but here there's such a good balance and strong flavours without the oily and heavy feeling and I love it! Location is very near Nagoya station so it is recommended to drop by for a quick bowl of good ramen. Service was very fast and turnover is quick so the queue time should still be quite bearable.
