Funabashi, Chiba, Japan｜ラーメン&BAR 963

In short: just go there, right now... but preferably when it's open. In my continuing quest to try all the spicy ramen around Funabashi, my friends just so happened to take me here at random. We ordered the MAX spicy miso ramen, and since then it has not been dethroned. The spicy ramen at BAR 963 (or, BAR Ku-ro-san) is legitimately the best that I've had in Japan so far. It might even be the best ramen I've had in Japan, period. It won't be the spiciest ramen you've ever had; this isn't kill-your-tastebuds spicy, but it has a very nice burn to it without sacrificing flavor. The broth is thick and rich and is practically a meal on its own, and the owners are always super nice when we come in. For the massive bowl of spicy ramen in the picture I'll include, the price comes out to around 900 yen. A little expensive, but worth it for the flavor, and you definitely won't be leaving hungry. If you're near Funabashi Station, give it a try!

Flaming Spicy Miso Ramen is exquisite! I have eaten it many times and never get tired of it. Bean sprouts and minced meat are entwined in the soup for an exquisite taste. The spiciness of the soup is not just spicy, but the umami is melted and mixed. Meguro-kun is delicious at Ariyoshi-san and Sakurai-san's evening party! This is a ramen shop run by the owner who made the world's best clam chowder. You can also eat the clam chowder. Char siu is also quite delicious! If you go to Funabashi, please try it! I have to eat!
