Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan｜Hariken Ramen

They serve expertly crafted ramen. We really liked their Tantanmen and Tsukemen. Their vending machine is just a little challenging for those who don’t know Nihonggo, but their staff is very friendly and helpful. Plus, they have a high chair for small children.

The ramen here is amazing. Went with a friend who usually isn't fond of it, but the soup is great and you can get so many toppings and extra meat for cheap. P.s. if you are using google maps, don't turn down a small dirt road. Just stay on the main road and you will see it. Made that mistake and ended up behind the restaurant.

Speciality ramen shop. You have to buy a ticket at the entrance from a machine. I had the tantan men which was quite good, not spicy, a lot of chicken meat and various flavourings including some yuzu peel. It cost 1,000 yen for that. We also had gyoza which was 450 yen for a plate. Service seems OK, there were two men working there when we visited at around 6pm on a Thursday. Apparently this is a famous shop locally. There were signs about the university on the wall so I suppose it has a lot of students as customers.
