Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan｜Takeya Shokudō

Small sushi outlet amongst the vicinity of factories. It was a long walk from yokohama station but it was worthwhile. Sushi was very fresh and excellent. Chef even custom made a cooked pork dish for patron who don’t eat sushi. Highly recommended

We visited Takeya Shokudo, which has a shop in Yokohama Market. The inside of the store feels like a Showa cafeteria and is somewhat calming. Business hours are from early morning until 12:30 noon, but if the rice runs out, the business will close even before that time. When I entered the store at 11 o'clock, the tuna bowl was sold out, and I ordered a 500ml canned beer for the omakase bowl and beer, and it was delicious. During the meal, one after another, the customers lowered the noren at 11:45 and refused to enter even if the signboard of the end of the day was lowered. I was lucky to be able to eat for the first time.
