This is -by far- the best Tonkatsu we've eaten. Worth the visit from Tokyo. I strongly recommend this place. Be aware it is under reservation only.

Best tonkatsu we have ever had

I had a meal at "Ageshizuku" to celebrate my birthday. "Age Shizuku" is a reservation system, and it seems that they want you to make a reservation at least half a day in advance (it seems that they want to prepare the pork and provide the rice just right). For the order, I asked for a pork loin cutlet (160g) called Tokyo-X with a rice set. I wanted to try the fillet cutlet as well, but I was told that the fillet is less in absolute quantity than the loin, and the order won't be fulfilled for about two weeks. The 160g katsu felt small, but according to the owner It seems that if you cut it out from the block so that the fat is well balanced and prepare it carefully, you will be satisfied with the volume. While I was doing that, the pork cutlet was brought. It was white pork cutlet as rumored. It is well seasoned, and the inside is almost rare. It's properly cooked, and the fat melts in your mouth. After all, as the general says, it is desirable to eat the katsu here freshly fried. This is a manifestation of the desire to fully enjoy the deliciousness of the fat, and this is probably because the fat becomes hard and the sweetness diminishes over time. In addition, the garnished pickled myoga was very delicious, and the miso soup was also delicious with the soup stock, tofu, and wakame seaweed. The inside of the store is organized like a Western restaurant, and the storefront looks like a French restaurant. I had a little talk with the general, but he politely told me what I was wondering about. A restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal that you have never eaten at a tonkatsu restaurant in a relaxed and good mood. General This time, I will make a reservation and visit you to eat the fillet and set meal.
