More Comments at Google MapI visited Mr. Watanabe on Saturday afternoon after watching him on YouTube. I went right when it opened at 11am, and I was able to get in without waiting. I ordered the ginger-grilled pork belly and the finest loin cutlet. The pork is very tender and the fat has a sweet taste, making it very delicious. The ginger-fried pork belly was a little hard, but it wasn't particularly noticeable and had a nice meaty texture. The pork cutlet was also very soft and sweet, which was great. The pork soup had a lot of ingredients and had a strong flavor to my liking. Next time I want to try Tamakatsudon.
Visited around 14:00 on a public holiday. It's a difficult place to find, but since it's a branch of a famous Kamata restaurant, it's almost full. The restaurant consists of almost only counter seating, with 15 counter seats and one table seat for two people. The menu is limited to pork cutlet and ginger grilled items, and some of the menu items are more expensive than the main store in Kamata. This time I ordered the finest loin cutlet set meal. It's amazingly delicious. Perhaps because it is different from the Kamata store, the pork soup is also delicious, as it is listed on the signboard. I think it would be great if they could make a pork soup set meal.
I went to Maruyama Shokudo, a pork soup restaurant that opened on August 4, 2023, a 2-minute walk from Keikyu Zoshiki Station. The store is located down a narrow alley, so it's a little confusing, but you'll soon figure it out. There doesn't seem to be much notice, so it's not very crowded yet. I entered the store and took a seat at the counter in front of the kitchen. I looked at the menu and ordered the ``Goku Tamakatsudon'', which I had never had before, with brown rice. Also, my companion ordered the ``Rose Ginger Yaki Set Meal'', so I ended up getting two pieces of Ginger Yaki. As I was looking around the store, I found a staff member who I had met at Maruyama Shokudo, and he advised me, ``Brown rice is hard, so white rice goes better with katsudon.'' The katsudon was brought to me. All set meals here come with pork soup. The pork soup had a lot of ingredients and a rich taste, making it very satisfying to drink. Katsudon is a bowl of brown rice with a half-boiled egg on top, topped with a sauce that is slightly sweeter than the ginger-yaki sauce, and topped with a sweet katsu sauce. . The bonito is coated with a sweet sauce and is very delicious even when eaten as is. Also, the tamagoyaki rice tastes so good that it can be eaten on its own, and the rice goes on and on. There is no cabbage or onion in the tamagoyaki, it is simply a tamagoyaki made with a sauce. My ``Gokudama Katsudon'' is ``Gokudama Katsudon'', so it has rib roast and 350g of cutlet on top. I finished the meal with a full stomach after enjoying the delicious food and pork soup to my heart's content. It was quite painful, so next time I might choose "Normal Tamakatsudon". A male staff member remembered that I had visited Maruyama Shokudo in Kamata about 3 months ago, and said to me, ``You were sitting at the end of the counter.'' I was able to enjoy my long weekend lunch in a good mood, and I left the restaurant by saying that I would be coming back to try the ``Mille-feuille Katsu Set Meal'' (a menu that I have never had before). Lastly, as the staff said, I felt that the Tamakatsudon goes better with white rice than brown rice. (Of course, brown rice is cooked quite deliciously.) It goes perfectly with regular ginger-yaki or loin cutlet set meals. postscript A week later, I came back for the "Mille-feuille Cataloise Tonkatsu Set Meal." When I sat down and ordered ``Mille-feuille Cata Roast Tonkatsu Set Meal,'' I was met with a sad reply, ``It was sold out earlier.'' Catalose is said to be a menu item that is sometimes out of stock due to limited availability. I took my seat back and looked at the menu. Last time I ordered "Tamakatsudon", so this time I ordered "Tamahiredon". ``Tamahiredon'' is a version of ``Tamakatsudon'' in which the pork cutlet is changed from loin cutlet to fillet cutlet. ``Tamafin Don'' is fillet, so there is almost no fat, so you can directly taste the taste of the meat and egg, making it a very light and easy-to-eat dish. After the meal, I promised the staff that I would come to the store at opening time for Mille-feuille's revenge and left the store. P.S. A week later, the persistent man came to Maruyama Shokudo again and today he was aiming for the mille-feuille cutlet. I arrived 10 minutes before the store opened and waited for it to open. When I entered the store, took a seat at the front of the counter, and ordered the "Mille-feuille Cata Roast Tonkatsu Set Meal," I was told, "Today is fine!!" Please change the rice to brown rice. The mille-feuille cutlet that came out was 200g, but it was quite big! ️ The cut side is layered as the story suggests, and resembles a mille-feuille. I heard that Hayashi SPF Catalose is layered with about 5 layers to make a cutlet. When asked, ``Would you like to add cheese❓️?'', I answered, ``Yes, that's fine!'' The bonito is extremely juicy and tender, and the fat is extremely sweet and delicious. This time, I really understood the goodness of mille-feuille. I feel like it would be best suited for women if it had less volume. Although it is cheese, the mille-feuille cutlet itself is very juicy, so I feel that adding cheese will make it very sticky. I was totally correct without cheese.
