I visited for dinner when I stayed near Sawara Station on a business trip. The regulars and the staff were having friendly conversations, and I thought it was a restaurant loved by locals. All of the menu items were under 1000 yen, the portions were perfect, and the flavors were homely and comforting.

A popular restaurant with a perfect Showa atmosphere, located in front of the station. When I visited, I went just after opening, but it was already a success with local people filling up about 80% of the seats. The cheerful female staff even calls customers by name, which makes me realize that this store is really popular with the locals. With such an atmosphere, I thought that someone like me would feel away, but I was able to enjoy the meal comfortably with the same friendly service. The vegetable stir-fried set meal I ate was just the right amount and taste, and I left the restaurant with just the right amount of fullness. I wanna go once more. 😊
