This campsite in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, is not in the middle of the mountain, but just past a village of private houses in the mountain village. it is quiet. This time I was late in making a reservation, so I couldn't get the auto site, but on the other hand, the forest site was shady and cool even during the day, so even though the auto site was hot due to the afternoon sun, I was able to spend a comfortable time here. The toilet is located next to the administration building, so it's a little far away, but it's a simple flush type that uses a pump to flush, and it's well maintained. The rules for the event will be clearly explained, so please abide by them!

You were very helpful the other day. Since I was new to camping, there were many things I didn't know. The person in charge was kind and taught me a lot of things. This is a very comfortable and quiet campsite surrounded by mountains. Enjoying a barbecue, swinging in a hammock, and running down the hill, I felt like a child again, had too much fun, and ended up with sore muscles the next day... (lol) Storks were coming to the nearby rice fields, I could hear the cries of red-crowned nighttails coming from somewhere in the forest, and the eggs of forest tree frogs... It seemed like a comfortable environment for natural animals, and I was able to spend time with a variety of animals. . If you make a reservation in advance, you can also take a walk through the forest with a nature guide, which is also recommended. It was an eye-opening experience for me to learn that weeds that I don't usually pay attention to can be eaten or even used as a medicine for wounds. I think it's a great campsite not only for overnight stays, but also for relaxing during the day surrounded by nature. It feels good to do yoga or meditation! This time I went with only adults, but I think it's safe to bring children as it's an open area. It looks like you can also fly a drone. This is a campground that can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, from beginners to experts, children to adults. A drone was stuck in a tree next to the campsite. Although it is a drone field, maneuver carefully!
