Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan｜Unagi no Matsuka

Visited during off peak winter season in Jan and there was no queue. Choose between 2 or 3 unagi-don sets. It's a little expensive but knowing unagi specialty shops ain't cheap, it's reasonable for its quality. Unagi had a perfect roasted taste that's distinctly better compared to famous Tokyo/Kyoto shops where we enjoyed our unagi with 4-ways of eating.

Excellent unagi restaurant! Good food and good service. Their version is slightly on the sweeter side that I enjoy. Get there early, they start to limit the menu by the time we went, just after 1pm.

Amazing food, really friendly staff who speak minimal English but are very patient. They really want you to have the best experience and enjoy having a chat.
