I ordered the carp course (2800 yen). There was a souvenir shop on the first floor, and a restaurant on the second floor. The inside of the restaurant is large and you can eat by going up a small hill. It was a set that included carp arai, carp simmered, carp koku (miso soup), and rice. It was the most delicious carp I've ever eaten...! It was my first time to eat carp arai, and it had no odor at all, and the texture was very fresh, like pork sesame turned into prosciutto. Both Umani and Koi Koku allow you to eat the bones, so you don't have to worry about the fine bones that are unique to Koi, so you can eat them comfortably. My favorite was the umani. The seasoning of braised meat went perfectly with the carp. It was so delicious that I couldn't help but want to order a second helping of rice. It's a little pricey for lunch, but considering the new experience I had, I was very satisfied! The fishing spot is said to be famous for sweetfish, so that seems to be recommended as well.
I actually wanted to visit Tsukuba, but they said reservations were required on weekdays, so I asked the store. The image of river fish dishes will change. I grew up in Nagano Prefecture, but I didn't have a very good impression of river fish because they had a muddy smell...but I was completely wrong. The sashimi, simmered fish, and tempura were all delicious. All the staff have great customer service.
