More Comments at Google MapThis is the best Unagi restaurant I once visited in Koga. The sauce is nice and thick. It has a savory aroma and the meat is tender. If you are a man, you will be satisfied with the Matsuju. If you have a big stomach and want to try it, I recommend Nidanju (the two-tiered stacked dish).
Whenever I am in Koga, this is my choice to eat Unagi. I prefer their eel sauce which is not overly sweet like any other places. Be warned that it takes a while to get your Unagi dish since they won't clean the fish till you place the order. You could order some side dish while waiting for Unagi to be charcoal grilled but I like to starve myself to enjoy the best Una-ju. They sometime have catfish tempura or koi sashimi. And, if you are not an eel fan, they also have Horo-horo cho, some kind of poultry dish as well as Veggie tempura or stewed veggies. Also, if you order a few days in advance, they can vacuum pack the charcoal grilled eel and you can take them as a souvenir on your next flight.
Visited without reservation for Saturday lunch I had Takeju, Lunch-ju, and Uzaku. Personally, it's the most delicious eel I've ever had. It was plump, soft, and I liked the sauce. I want to eat eel again and again. There are few parking lots and the road width is narrow, so please be careful if you drive. Next time, I will be a little far from Koga station, but I would like to enjoy delicious eel and sake at night.
