More Comments at Google MapI walked in at midnight in an early March before sakura blooming. It was off season, and nobody was in the restaurant except the chief and his wife(maybe?); it was too late to head for the exit. A shady handwritten English menu is available. The chief is very helpful and try his best to communicate with his limited English vocabularies, then... BANG! Some of the BEST dishes I've ever tasted in Japan! The chief's range was so wide, by the end of the meal I was wondering why was he here instead of running a Kaiseki restaurant. While the wife was away, the chief poured me a glass of his favourite sake and had a toast with me. It was way pass midnight, and I didn't know why or how both of us ended up here.
We had a meal on our wedding anniversary trip to Kurashiki. Every dish was flavorful and delicious. I was also grateful that there was sweetfish, my wife's favorite. Both of us weren't able to eat eel so we didn't get to try it, but next time I'd definitely like to try it. There seems to be a lot of regular customers, so reservations are essential.
Every dish was delicious! It was really delicious, such as salmon Saikyo-yaki, yellow chive soup rolls, and vinegared platter. It was cozy and I ate too much.
