Shizuoka, Japan｜うなぎのはら川

I'm travelling through Japan for few weeks. I made a stop of few days in Shizuoka. My host back in Sapporo told me Shizuoka is the best for eel. I really enjoy traditionnal food wherever I go so I wanted to try. I saw this restaurant when I arrived and it looks really nice and the food seems really good. So I decided yesterday night to go for dinner. It's small and cosy place of few floor. I was there quite early so I was on my own at the beginning. All the staff was so welcomming and nice, and the food was delicious ! I don't have lovely pictures to show everyone I was so enthousiatic about the food haha. My grandma used to cook eel sometimes when I was a kid (not the same way, of course I'm French) , so I'm excited to be able to share that story with her when I come back! I wish you all the best. One day I'll be back in Shizuoka and back to that lovely restaurant.

The soup should have orange peel, which has a special fragrance, which is amazing 👍🏻The eel rice is also delicious, and the burnt part is especially fragrant. The service attitude of the shop assistant is also very good, praise

Totally local spot for Una-juu. There is an English menu with photos. Basically everything unagi and well worth a visit. Remember that Unagi isn't a cheap dish. We had the bento set, and it was JPY 66 total for two large sets and a beer.
