I think I can say this is the best unagi I’ve had so far in Japan. Shizuoka is known for good unagi and it did not disappoint. The eel was cooked perfectly, soft and tender. You can get different portion sizes and change the amount of rice to go with it. The egg unagi was great too. The decor feels like your step back in time to an old Japanese inn, with impeccable service. Highly recommend.

Great great Unagi (eel). Very famous restaurant for charcoal grilled eel with light and smooth teriyaki kind of source. Very fresh, juicy and soft. Never had such delicious Unagi before. It comes with a special soup containing the heart of eels. Traditional house, authentic, well selected eels, professional skills...Staffs are very polite too. Must reserve as you may have to wait for 2 - 2.5 hours in the weekend during the holiday season. Overall, a great restaurant for Japanese traditional grilled eels!!!
