Gotemba, Shizuoka, Japan｜Hirota

Small and hidden gem in the Gotemba neighborhood. I found it using Google map and seems the locals love it. It's a small place with 2 private dining areas, the lady staffs there are really friendly and speaks a little English. Besides the eel, you must really try their yakotori. I rank this yakitori one of the nicest I have tried so far.

This is an old shop with a history of 40 years specializing in eel rice. 3,000 yen per serving. tasty. But it's a bit salty.

Nice little restaurant specializing in unagi (freshwater eel). Came here for lunch and they were gracious enough to seat our party of 6 close to their 2pm closing time. Unagi-don was so fresh and delicious! Would recommend highly and it's only a short walk from JR Gotemba station.
