Hands down the best Unagi I've had in my life. It was soft, with a crispy exterior and so flavorful! Not only that but the rice was amazing too! Chewy and fluffy. The Hida beef dish was also delightful, with juicy beef. The meal was reasonably priced for such a high quality dinner. I would definitely return here, even for a short stop on the road to Takayama. It's just that good. Be aware that as of June 2023, it's cash only.

The food is really good and affordable. They specialise in eel and it is very fresh, and they also have a limited beef don (10 servings a day) which is also delicious and tender. Highly recommended! Waiter is also very cheerful and polite.

Best eel ever tried, juicy yet the outer is crispy. And there are 3 ways of eating the rice, (1) eat as it is (2) stir in chopped spring onion, wasabi, and dried seaweed (3) eat with tea. Both the taste and experience is unforgettable.
