Nagano, Japan｜味な隠れ家 うおてつ

We were looking for an unagi restaurant and ended up with so much more. Definitely a memorable experience! We walked in on a Monday evening at 7:30pm and were the only diners there. It’s a little hidden behind buildings and near a parking lot. Its sign is lit up out front so you know you’re at the right place. It’s a super cozy restaurant and we sat at the bar. The menu was all in Japanese. Specials were printed on paper with recommendations indicated with a ⭐️. The waiter was attentive and very pleasant to deal with (although limited English). We ordered using previous review pictures. The tofu dish is a complimentary starter (which we tried to order haha). Everything was delicious. We had the tempura Gyoja Ninniku (alpine leek), fried oyster (similar to agadashi tofu), clams, unagi Don and sea urchin. Everything was spectacular!! Very memorable and highly recommend. Did not cost an arm and a leg given the quality of the food. Note for those game, I believe the chef is certified to serve puffer fish.

This is a small restaurant that serves really delicious Japanese food. I'm really enjoying the course (lol)

Yellowtail shabu, sea urchin rice balls🍙 are the best😀 Anyway, the food is delicious! ️
