It was a hot day. My throat is dry after walking through the large precincts. I was relieved to have iced tea. The atmosphere is nice rather than the taste. The engraving was beautiful too. The toilets in the precincts are Japanese-style, and I couldn't use them because I have trouble walking, but the toilets here were Western-style, so that was helpful. The male staff had a calm demeanor, and I thought they were perfect for the atmosphere here.

As of August 2022, the main entrance to the elementary school is closed and it is a little difficult to understand how to enter. First, enter through the entrance of Kounkaku, change into slippers, and leave your shoes in the shoe locker. The Kounkaku cafeteria is on the left after entering the entrance, and if you go further to the left of the cafeteria and go through the passageway, you will enter the small school. I ordered coffee jelly and iced tea. The jelly is quite bitter, and you can make it as sweet as you like by adding the gum syrup that comes with it. It had a firm texture and was delicious. It was the Obon period, so the shrine grounds were busy with long lines forming in the parking lot, but Shokyoin was very empty and was a little-known spot. The staff were very friendly and I had a relaxing time.
