Kunitachi, Tokyo, Japan｜Starbucks Coffee - nonowa Kunitachi

Very friendly store served by mostly deaf and hard of hearing staff, if you don’t know sign language you can also write on tablets or point at menu items. Awesome that such a store exists! Coffee is Starbucks, so, y’know 😉

Been to the signing store in Washington DC and this is very similar. Staff members are very helpful and service was wonderful. The only difference between this store and the DC store was the lack of a tablet or paper to write your orders if you did not know how to sign. There were plenty of menus with pictures though so you can easily point and order. The store exclusive journal was in stock, while the mug was sold out. Coffee and pastries taste like any other Starbucks, well made and prepared.

First coffee shop with sign language service I’ve ever been to in Japan. Not only the workers with hearing impairment can use their own language, all staff seems to be learning and using it as well. Great initiative! I hope it serves as an example to other stores as well. Excellent service and environment!
