Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan｜Little Village Cafe

Summary: above my expectations in terms of quality of sweets! This a very popular cafe we had been planning to visit. We expected a long line, although we were lucky enough to only have 2 tables before us (we went quite early), but soon, we saw the line getting longer outside, so definitely plan things in advance and go at around opening time! We went for their autumn menu, and tried their chestnut cheesecake, Mont Blanc cupcake, kabocha cheesecake, sweet potato pudding, and then we got their chai float and a Darjeeling milk tea. Prices were around ¥600 for each piece on average. We spent about ¥1900 each. We were expecting the bland taste that often characterises Japanese sweets, but we were actually very surprised by how flavourful they were! Especially the kabocha cheesecake, and the Mont Blanc cream. The chestnut cheesecake had a beautifully intense cheese flavour which is what I love. And a good chestnut aftertaste. I got most of the chestnut flavour from the cupcake. The pudding also had a unique flavour, and it actually had a good texture. The drinks were good too. We got the small table in the middle of the room, so not ideal to take pictures (no white wall or aesthetic background), BUT they actually have a set up for those who want to take nice pics with a white background and aesthetic items, so you take your plate to that spot, take all the pics you want and go back to your seat! Wonderful! The place is pretty small (4 tables) but I think it’s part of the concept, and it makes it cozy and quiet. The staff did not pressure us despite the long line outside and they were very nice. I’ll keep an eye on their insta and check for new seasonal items, and go back if there’s anything I’m interested in!! Very cute cafe! It is small, so recommend going early and in a group no more than 2. The atmosphere is very cozy. The drinks and desserts were worth the wait. Definitely would come back.
