Tokigawa, Saitama, Japan｜Kuma's Cafe

Words like fantastic or amazing don't even begin to describe just how special Kuma's Cafe is. I visited before noon on a weekday and therefore it wasn't super crowded. The view and atmosphere both inside and out were stunning. Beautiful mountain scenery paired with tasteful piano music created the perfect "cafe feel" that I think so many other places aim for but fall short of. The food was delicious and incredibly fairly priced considering the quality of the experience one gets while visiting. The thing I found most moving though was (what I believe to be) the owner's dedication to and clear love of his cafe. He was incredibly kind, professional and most of all very clearly invested in and proud of the coffee and waffles that they serve there. I can't remember the last time I heard someone speaking so eloquently when describing the methods of preparation and unique tastes their food embodies. Food really does taste different when you're dealing with someone who genuinely respects both the customer and the craft. I will most definitely be visiting again soon.

Dutch on the rocks made with homemade syrup is delicious. It's different from the iced coffee you're used to drinking. The crispy waffles go perfectly.

I searched for ``cafes near me'', read reviews, and decided to go there as a destination for a drive. The interior of the old house, which was renovated by the master, has a nice interior, a wooden deck, and a mountain in front of you. I had the ``Dutch on the Rocks'' iced coffee, which was brewed with water for 8 hours, and two types of sweet waffles, both of which were very delicious. And cheap! Also, even though it was a weekday afternoon, there were many customers and regulars. There was a darts space, and we had a great time interacting with the regulars who were having fun there. I will definitely go again!
