Hikone, Shiga, Japan｜UCC Cafe Mercado Hikone

A lovely place for breakfast. The breakfast sets are good value but perhaps there was some miscommunication as the staff member that served us just charged us for the items separately (instead of the discount offered when you get a food and drink item together). The coffee making contraption looks cool but takes a while. Cosy, old school vibes.

If I could, I will come here every day for breakfast. This timeless cafe has a quiet calming atmosphere that puts you at ease. The food is absolutely to die for and the coffee is well made. The owner may be alone but you can tell he put in a lot of effort to prepare the most important meal of the day. Thank you for such a wonderful start to my day in Hikone! Ps: His cafe was even featured in a book about coffee shops and he gave me free Hikonyan sticker. XD

Service is above and beyond the best coffee available in Hikone and croissants and marmalade were fantastic! We're heading there tomorrow for early breakfast I can't believe it this coffee shop opens at 7:30 the time I like to drink coffee!!
