A hidden gem in Shugakuin. The owner seems into hiking. They have a lot of books and maps about mountains in Japan. The Curry lunch came with lots of side dishes made from locally grown vegetables which tasted really good. Coffee was good too. Hope to try their vegan energy bar next time. I don’t think they have a parking spot. I parked my bicycle in front of the cafe but the space was limited.

Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood near the Shugaku-in Imperial Villa. Roku is a cafe that seemed to be geared towards adventurers and travellers : there are some outdoor gear being sold in one part of the cafe and you can find reading materials about hiking, travel and cycling. As it has a pretty small storefront. There is limited space for parking of bicycles (which they allow in front of their cafe) Once inside, you find a rustic, log cabin like interiors with a bar counter where food and coffee's prepared manned by a lady and man. I thoroughly enjoyed their set meal which includes a little bit of everything and a main course of some sorts that changes from time to time. The coffee's good too.

Cozy cafe with incredibly healthy and delicious one plate lunch. Also offers a variety of desserts and coffee/tea/juice/beer.
