Iwakuni, Yamaguchi, Japan｜Shiroyama Cafe

This is a wonderful, quiet little cafe. We stopped in before heading on to the Kintai Castle and it was the perfect lunch to hold us over for the afternoon. The shrimp pilaf was fantastic (flavorful but mellow - no one ingredient overpowering the others) and my husband had the best curry I've tasted since being in Japan. I finished the meal with a white peach tart and left feeling very content. We will definitely be back.

Nice stop for a break walking around the park. Friendly staff and welcoming of Americans. English menu available. Their menu is small, for lunch they have some coffees, teas, 3 lunch sets with salads, and a handful of desserts. The curry with rice was a nice quick snack. We also had a monte blanc with chestnut for dessert and it was delicious and sweet.

A lovely small cafe with super-friendly staff and a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere just on the edge of Kikko Park. There's a small menu of cakes and main meals - the Japanese curry is absolutely delicious.
