More Comments at Google MapI visited on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was almost full, but I managed to get in at the right time. First of all, I was surprised at how cheap the food was. I ordered grilled mackerel and the fish was delicious with just the right amount of fat. The miso soup also had a gentle taste. I had a light conversation with the two clerks, and I felt very warm and happy. I wanted the two of you to stay healthy and live happily ever after. I will go again.
It's about a 10 minute walk from Kichijoji Station. Please check the location on Google Maps. Along the road in a residential area, a signboard in hiragana called ``Maruken'' stands out. The size of the restaurant is about 10 tatami mats, and there are 14 pipe chairs divided into three tables, so if customers come in a row, they will be seated together right away. That's the environment. It's completely Showa era. Something made me cry. The restaurant is run by an elderly couple (probably), with the husband cooking and the wife serving the customers. Both of them are friendly and have great communication skills (which was common in the past). That's why there are so many regulars (I think). The menu is divided into meat and fish, and the side dishes can be ordered individually or as part of a set meal. And the price is too low. Unbelievable price range. Even though it's Kichijoji. And the taste is also delicious. The miso soup has a gentle miso flavor without the usual salty taste, and the pickles are sweet, not just the usual accompaniments. I ordered the salmon set meal with minced meat cutlet. This won't cost you 900 yen. I am full. The water is delicious (seriously), and when my glass runs out of water, my wife notices right away and refills it for me. As soon as I entered, a regular at the table next to me casually handed me a newspaper. It's the Showa era. I'm crying again. It's cheap, it's delicious, and conversations with the staff come naturally. The regulars are nonchalant. That's the kind of shop it is. It's a time slip. This is a world where the instinct for self-protection naturally disappears. I want young people to go. There is a difference between respect for the individual and self-defense. I haven't checked, but there is probably no parking lot. Bicycles are parked on the street in front of the store.
It feels like an old-fashioned diner, and I love it.It's loved by people of all ages, men and women, and I have the impression that there are many regulars.
