When I was a student at the university over 10 years ago we would eat there all the time. I've been back a handful of times over the years and it still was the best food for the best deal I ever found in Tokyo.

A store for students. Working adults should visit at different times. The food is quite voluminous, even if it's a normal portion. Don't order a large portion if you make a mistake!

I visited after 10 o'clock on a weekday Wednesday. There were no other customers in the store yet, only the proprietress. There was a smell of oil, perhaps because they sell a lot of fried food, but it was relatively clean.Orders are taken at the counter that is separated from the kitchen. So, I ordered the katsudon. In this day and age, 650 yen (tax included) at a private restaurant is quite cheap. There seem to be some reviews saying that the proprietress is not very friendly, but in fact, she is not very friendly. That may be accurate. It took about 10 minutes to complete, but it seems like it was a one-off operation, so I think it was done well. When it's done, I'll be called, so I go to the counter to pick it up. There's a cutlet bowl and miso soup on the tray. It's quite heavy... The bowl itself is quite sturdy, but more than that, the amount is quite large. And it comes with miso soup for 650 yen (tax included), which is quite surprising. When you eat it, you'll notice that the egg... The seared cutlet has a chewy texture. This is not because there is less egg, but because the coating is thick and firm. Incidentally, the meat is also chewy, but it is not hard or dry. It was strange how juicy it was. When I first started eating, the meat was quite thin, but as I continued to eat it, the other end was thicker, which was interesting. When you're finished, take your tray to the counter and pay.The hostess doesn't say anything here either, so I ask her, "Was it 650 yen?" and she says, "That's right," and she continues to respond like this from beginning to end. Overall it was good so I recommend it.
